Job Posting: Services Computing at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center

IBM Research is seeking outstanding Services Computing researchers to help us advance the state of the art and advance services innovation research and IBM's technology in Services Computing (http://www.research.ibm.com/services). We are interested in enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals with a PhD or equivalent in computer science or related disciplines. Successful candidates will be expected to help define and lead research projects from SOA and Web Services, SOA solution and services design, business transformation, business process modeling, monitoring & management to the realization leveraging the advanced modular SOA infrastrutures and tools.

Services Computing has become a cross-discipline that covers the science and technology of bridging the gap between Business Services and IT Services. The underneath breaking technology suite includes Web services and service-oriented architecture (SOA), business consulting methodology and utilities, business process modeling, transformation and integration. This scope of Services Computing covers the whole lifecycle of services innovation research that includes business compoentization, services modeling, services creation, services realization, services annotation, services deployment, services discovery, services composition, services delivery, service-to-service collaboration, services montoring, services optimization, as well as services management. The goal of Services Computing is to enable IT services and computing technology to perform business services more efficiently and effectively.

IBM Research is extending its distinguished history in Services Computing, and the related areas of service-oriented business consulting, modeling, transformation, execution, monitoring and management. IBM researchers have been making foundational contributions in Web services standards, web services hub framework, federated web services discovery, semantic web services, business performance management, SLA management, software as a service, services as software, dynamic web services composition, extended business collaboration, business process and workflow management, business transformation solutions, component business model and SOA, multi-channel e-commerce architecture, access control and security, industry solution frameworks, and industry standards. IBM researchers have also been actively working with the worldwide research communities to help define the research directions of Services Computing. IBM's Services Science, Management, and Engineering (SSME) academic initiative is supported by Services Computing discipline within IBM Research.
