Directive 34/95EC on Data Protection

http://www.acm.org/usacm/Issues/Privacy.htm

You'll find there most of the well-known principles of the Directive 34/95EC
on data protection. I'm a bit surprised that they have a header "Openess"
that talks about the principle of finality. I hope most of the things
mentioned there are already in P3P, but I will need to have a deeper
analysis.

Best,

Guys You Deal with on the Internet

Truth about Guys You Deal with on Web

Alien IP is trace routing software that resolves domain names, pings
IP addresses, and locates remote hosts on the map. It supplies
detailed information about remote domains, email senders and web site
visitors. Alien IP has a clear and straightforward interface that
keeps you in the know about remote domains that connect to your
system.

Vancouver, Canada. - June 20, 2006: - ArmCode today announces the
release of the second major version of Alien IP, a trace routing tool.
The program can locate any remote domain on the map and display its IP
address and geographic coordinates. Alien IP v2.0 can also ping the
address to see if the target host is up or not. It handles equally
well individual IP addresses, IP ranges and lists from web logs.
Integrated IP Calculator will help you translate an IP address into
alternative numerical notations and calculate its range and subnet.
Enhanced with the new features, Alien IP v2.0 better satisfies user
needs and provides additional comfort of use.

"In the broadband world of today with the large number of sites
visited daily it is difficult to track down every domain your system
connects to," says Dmitry Costenco, Marketing Officer at ArmCode.
"Often, however, there is a need to locate them. In such cases Alien
IP can track their geographical location and show it on the map. The
program helps to pin down unwanted domains in order to block their
access into the user system. It also provides information about web
site visitors and email senders. If you, for instance, market a
product on the Internet, the knowledge of your leads' nationality can
help you make a more targeted campaign. The new version of the program
goes a lot further then just showing domain's location. It allows you
to process web logs, ping remote addresses, and trace route their
exact location. We made a point of keeping the program interface clear
and simple so that the user doesn't bog down in it. The ability to
quickly trace a domain can also help to stem the leak of important
personal information."

The detailed world map, toolbar and a status bar make the key elements
of the program interface. They open up access to all program features.
To initiate trace routing of a domain one just needs to paste its name
or IP address into a drop-out box on the tool bar and click on the
"go" button. When the program pins down the location, it will
highlight it on the map and its coordinates will appear in the status
bar. You can also bring about a detailed summary by pressing the
"info" button. The unparallel clarity and straightforward approach to
the interface make using Alien IP a snap!

Alien IP v2.0 Features at a Glance:
- Ability to trace route and ping domains by their name and IP address;
- Ability to resolve domain names, IP ranges and address lists from files;
- Translation of IP address into alternative numerical notations;
- Calculation of IP ranges and subnets;
- Display of domain location and coordinates.

Availability and Pricing
Alien IP v2.0 runs under Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP. A single-user
license costs 29.95 USD. Program registration entitles all users to
free technical support. A trial version of the program is available
for download at www.armcode.com/downloads/alien-ip.exe. The company
offers a free licence for Alien IP v2.0 to every user who manages to
find 5 mistakenly traced domain locations. In order to receive the
free license, a user is expected to submit 5 IP ranges and clearly
state the country, region, name and coordinates (longitude and
latitude) of the city, it postal and dialling codes.

About ArmCode

software. Besides Alien IP, the company's product line is comprised of
Map Explorer and ZIP Pointer. Map Explorer is cartographic tool that
helps locate and view any object on global maps. ZIP Pointer is

geographic locations and shows them on the map. For more information,

Download Accelerator

Internet Download Accelerator Makes Downloading Fun Ride!

Version 5.0.5 of a popular download manager has expanded its feature set with plug-ins support, Advanced Scheduler plug-in, ability to download entire folders via FTP and more

WestByte Software has announced the release of version 5.0.5 of their download manager - Internet Download Accelerator (IDA). Most everyone downloading files from the internet has experienced the sufferings that come from a broken connection. This may happen due to a disconnected modem or a system crash. Until the age of download managers there was only one way to deal with a broken connection - restart a download again, losing time and money wasted on a half-downloaded file. Fortunately, IDA offers a smarter solution.

Internet Download Accelerator gives you an ability to resume a disconnected download. If you have downloaded only a portion of a file and the connection is interrupted, the program will resume the download and get the rest of the file without restarting it from the beginning. This greatly saves your time and, of course, money! Another best thing about IDA is a unique technology that increases a file download speed. IDA splits up a file and downloads its several pieces simultaneously. This helps you get the most out of your internet connection.

Internet Download Accelerator gives you many other interesting abilities that enhance your downloading experience. It lets you play a video or audio file even when a download is not over, thus allowing you to decide in the very beginning whether to continue a download or not. You can also manage downloads and have different types of files automatically sorted out into categories like Archives, Music and Video. If you need to download a ZIP-archive, IDA lets you download its files selectively, only those that you actually need.

Another convenience in IDA is Active Visual Cartman, a floating icon that provides immediate access to all main functions of the program without the need to open its main window. The program can integrate into all most popular internet browsers, including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Mozilla, Opera, Netscape, and others, replacing the standard download modules. What's more, it can monitor system clipboard and detect URLs in it. Featuring support for additional plug-ins, IDA gives you unlimited possibilities for expanding its functionality.

What's New in Version 5.0.5?
- Plug-ins support;
- Advanced Scheduler plug-in is shipped with the program;
- Ability to download entire folders (including the content of subfolders) via FTP;
- Optimized download speed and enhanced stability.

IDA Pricing and Availability
Internet Download Accelerator 5.0.5 runs under Microsoft Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP and costs $24.95 (USD). Registered users are entitled to a lifetime technical support and free updates to future versions of the software. Also, they will gain an ability to buy other WestByte programs at a considerable discount. Additional information on Internet Download Accelerator, as well as its 30-day evaluation copy is available from http://www.westbyte.com/ida/.
