PC Software for Mobile Phones

First Certified PC Software for Mobile Phones

A series of tests conducted recently on Oxygen Phone Manager confirms excellent performance of the software on Nokia and Samsung phones. Ladofon, an authorized service centre representing both these producers, certified full compliance of Oxygen Phone Manager with declared features. Oxygen Software and Ladofon have agreed on mutual cooperation.

Oxygen Software, the developer of software for mobile phones and smartphones, has become the first company to certify its software with an authorised service centre. A series of tests was performed by the expert panel of Ladofon, the authorised service centre of Nokia and Samsung. The tests showed full compliance of Oxygen Phone Manager with the declared features. The tests also assured the compatibility of Oxygen programs with phone firmware and the safety of use on Nokia and Samsung phones. Oxygen Software and Ladofon are now discussing possible ways of cooperation.

"We hope that the certification of Oxygen Phone Manager by a qualified panel of experts will assure users once again of the highest quality and safety of Oxygen software," says Nike Golubev, PRO at Oxygen Software. "In the global software market consumers often find themselves under the deluge of claims that can lack foundation. At Oxygen Software we feel pride in our products and honestly believe that they serve the best interests of users. We want our customers to be as sure as we are of the quality of their software."

Oxygen Software has long been known for an innovative approach to software development and marketing. It was one of the first to offer interactive management of mobile phone contents. The idea of turning a personal computer into a console for texting, dialling and accessing contacts was just what users needed at the time. That explains the unprecedented rise in sales that the company continues to enjoy and a large number of commercial partners it has. Forensic mode of accessing phone contents was another step in the right direction. Software that can manage the contents on a PC while keeping it intact on the phone itself met the demands of police departments. It now helps maintain peace and order in different parts of the world. Now Oxygen Software has become the first to offer certified quality software to their customers worldwide. It all demonstrates the company's deep understanding of user needs and the ability to satisfy them.

Oxygen Phone Manager II is a flagship of the company's product line. It has versions for both Symbian smartphones and mobile phones. The program backs up, synchronises and manages all the data types available in modern phone models. Its list of manageable features covers everything from the phonebook and calendar items to FM radio and GPRS settings. The widest range of supported models allows moving the settings and content between them with just several mouse clicks. Oxygen Phone Manager II will automatically detect your model and choose an appropriate data format. With its unique ad-hoc editing you can make the most of the rich multimedia features of your phone. No less important is the program's backup system, which saves phone contents to a hard drive and protects them with a password. It is exactly for this rich functionality and the unparalleled ease of use that home and professional users alike prefer Oxygen Phone Manager.

RSS Guru with iTunes

New RSS Editor Makes Anyone RSS Guru! Now with iTunes!

ExtraLabs Software unveils Feed Editor 3.7, a fully-fledged RSS editor that offers you an easy way to create and maintain RSS feeds and podcasts.

ExtraLabs Software today announces the release of Feed Editor 3.7. Designed for the Windows OS, this application enables you to create, edit and publish RSS feeds and podcasts surprisingly fast and easy. Compared to other RSS editors in its category, Feed Editor combines an unprecedented number of features, including a support for various RSS formats, a podcasting support, iTunes support, a WYSIWYG HTML editor, an XML editor, an RSS Feed preview, an FTP upload and publishing, automatic date management, and an ability to convert CSV or HTML to RSS and back and others. All this is delivered in an intuitively transparent user interface that has been meticulously written in collaboration with usability groups and real end users.

Feed Editor can create and maintain an unlimited number of RSS feeds and podcasts, thus letting you maintain and distribute multiple content streams simultaneously. The best thing is that the program makes it downright simple. To create a new RSS feed, you can use a New Feed Creation wizard. It will guide you through the RSS setup process in a step by step fashion, delivering ease of use and conformance to specifications. Additional convenience comes with a built-in WYSIWIG HTML editor that allows you to edit a feed in much the same way as you would edit a word processing document. You can format the text, apply styling, and insert images and hyperlinks. Also, "Feed Editor" can generate a feed from a CSV and HTML file. Once a feed is ready, you can preview it and publish online using an FTP upload facility.

SEBIZ 2006

CALL FOR PAPERS

SEBIZ 2006
http://www.ag-nbi.de/conf/SEBIZ06
November 6, 20006

1st international workshop
APPLICATIONS AND BUSINESS ASPECTS OF THE
SEMANTIC WEB

at ISWC 2006
5th Int. Semantic Web Conference
November 5 - 9, 2006 Athens, Georgia, USA

****************************************************************************
***

Within the past five years, the Semantic Web research community has
brought to maturity a comprehensive set of foundational technology
components, and this both at the conceptual level and in the form of
prototypes and software. However, in order for these research
achievements to materialize into large scale corporate applications,
they must be complemented by prototypes, methods, and best practices
which support enterprises in the adoption of Semantic Web
technology. This includes:

** Convincing showcases and proofs-of-concept that demonstrate the
technical feasibility in relevant business scenarios.

** Methods to assess the costs and business value of semantic
technology; in particular, such that help estimate the costs
involved in the development and usage of ontologies, and to quantify
the operational and strategic benefits of ontology-based systems.

** Metrics to evaluate and compare existing ontologies, ontology
engineering methodologies, and tools in terms of technical quality
and organizational fit. This includes metrics to determine the
usability of a particular ontology in a specific business scenario.

** Means to monitor the quality of ontology development and deployment
processes.

The availability of best practices, convincing showcases, and
quantitative and qualitative metrics that help manage the various
stages of building ontologies and ontology-based systems will be
important catalysts for disseminating Semantic Web research into
enterprise applications.

*******************************************************
CALL FOR PAPERS
*******************************************************

We invite original research papers and project
reports from academia and industry that address any of the above
mentioned aspects of Semantic Web technology in business
applications.

The topics of interest include but are not limited to:

* Best practices and use cases of semantic technology in enterprise
applications, e.g.,

- Business Process Management (BPM)
- Business Intelligence (BI)
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
- Decision Support Systems
- Ontology-based content integration tasks in business and public
sector applications (catalog data integration, spend analysis); and
- Enterprise Application Integration (EAI).

* Methods to assess the costs and business value of semantic
technology, in particular

- Methods to monitor the costs associated with the development and
usage of ontologies
- Methods to estimate the total costs of ontology ownership; and
- Methods that help e quantify the business value, in the sense of
operational and strategic benefits, of ontology-based systems in
organizations.

* Methods for evaluating ontologies and monitoring ontology
development on a technical level, e.g.

- Metrics to evaluate and compare existing ontologies, ontology
engineering methodologies, and tools in terms of technical quality
and organizational fit
- Metrics to determine the usability of a particular ontology in a
specific business scenario
- Methods to measure the interdependencies among ontologies and
organizational processes; and
- Quality frameworks for ontologies, ontology engineering
methodologies, methods and tools.

Especially welcome will be papers that integrate the various aspects
of the enumerated problems.
